When You Smile on the Inside

Life is funny when you apply those generic sayings that you hear and somehow always apply: you can't expect someone to love you unless you love yourself first, the pursuit of money and happiness do not always go hand in hand, etc. I love all the cheese and true meaning you can find in these type of things. I posted something similar that talks about why people are in your life and I wanted to share an example that I chose to apply to in my life.

I have a co-worker Juliette who has been an INCREDIBLE challenge for me. She has been rude, disrespectful and insulting throughout her employment. As a Supervisor I have had to deal with the attitude and constant battles. Assuming I'm a generally amicable person, I have been completely frustrated in trying to address and improve the work dynamic between us. It doesn't matter now because I have put in my two weeks and I believe she has too - for different reasons on both our parts not related to our relationship.

Taylor and I met our new neighbor who just moved in last night as her mom helped move her in. Her name is Juliette :) Haha and she is INCREDIBLY friendly. I laugh and smile to think that the reason I had my challenge with Juliette to simply appreciate and adore our new neighbor that much more. Haha and I am completely fine to think that because it's those retrospective moments and thoughts that life is made of.

Reason, Season or a Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime . When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They open your eyes to new things. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, season or a lifetime.

Times a Changing

So my beloved $5-target-sports-watch broke about a month ago. It lasted me all throughout my crazy summer of book selling and still kept kicking thereafter! It gave me the best of its five years and for that I am thankful. I've given it a month of grievance and am ready to move on. I've been looking at some watches and am torn between these three options:
Least Expensive: Think Sleek
Mid-Range: Wide and All Black
Most Expensive: Serious Business

I'll update once I decide :) Or you can leave me your opinion in the meantime!

It Doesn't Get Old

Baby Overload dot Com

My auntie Jean likes to send me forwards like no other. Even though I'm generally not a fan of forwards, I did enjoy this one. It was titled as "Don't Take Life Too Seriously" but it's really just a compilation of cute baby pics. Here goes a few of my favorites:

Blowfish Baby

I <3 dressed up kids

So young and already french kissing

I don't know who I love more: the statue kid in mom's heels or the baby dancing with a statue ^_^
