FIRST Thing After Marriage

Quick smiley story to let my mind breathe from work.

Tay had a work lunch with one of his manager's the other day and the conversation went something like this...

Mgr: So how long have you and your gf been together?
Tay: About 2.5 yrs
Mgr: Oh. You guys going to get married?
Tay: Yeah. Then we're gonna get a pommie :)

Gee golly. Sure do love my bf.

Madrid

Per request of a certain blogger, I am going to resume my Europe trip blogging! So our first stop was in Madrid for a night. Mind you, we had 3 weeks to make this Euro travel happen, so we were at any given city for 3 days AT BEST.

We had a surprisingly WONDERFUL flight on Comet with little desserts, peanuts, and Spanish beer :) We didn't request it, but Taylor saved it for later :) We landed in Madrid Friday mid afternoon and made our way to our Hostel. After settling in and all that jazz, we walked around and scoped out the area. On our way back to the hostel, we stopped by a Starbucks and had a refreshingly delicious mango tea something or other -- it was pretty warm out.

Traveling, you meet a ton of fellow traveling spirited people from everywhere. In Madrid, we met a nice Canadian named Rowan. Apparently, his parents were hippies and decided to name their kid after the trees in their backyard :) True story. We went out for tapas (spanish appetizers) and delicious beer. Already being jolly, we met some MORE people and headed over to a cathedral converted club called, JOY. Being in Madrid, our early arrival at 11:30 was welcome with a discount and the most alcoholic free beverage I've ever recieved! Dancing, drinking, friendships, and we made it back to our hostel safely :)

Unfortunately, Tay and I are teh SUCK at taking pictures, so we have NONE of Madrid OR Rowan. We exchanged email addresses but have currently misplaced our journal :) I can always update and edit at a later time if we ever touch base and get pictures from him.

The next day was spent recovering (Tay was HORRRRRIBLY sick and hungover). We decided to go to one of the most AMAZING parks and pretty much lay down reading and taking in the scene of all the local people. The park here was very much like our Cali beach scene. People laying out on beach towels, bathing suits or bikinis, reading and just hangin out :) It was so peaceful and serene. Certainly, it was the best thing to do given Tay's sick state.

We got ice cream on our way to catch our train, which was ultimately a poor decision, but DELICIOUS ice cream none the less. After all was said and done, we missed our train and ended up having a stressful run around to make it to our next destination -- Barcelona. Lesson learned: Give ample time to make it to the train station, or you'll get pwned like a no0b for more monies and possibly a deposit at your next hostel.

Sorry no pics this time round. Barcelona to come :) We have LOOOOOADS of pics there as it was our favorite and we spent so much time there.

Mama's Berfday

Mama = Sameejo, best friend from college, harem of one :) Why we call each other Mama? We're weird.

Her birth day is October 19, 1984 and she came down to celebrate with MEEEEEEEEEE. After a bit of research, Mama decided that Saddle Ranch Chop House was our place to go. Restaurant turned bar at night, we would have only a taxi ride, and one place to stay at (what sold her was the option to roast your own smores over a fire pit for dessert) Here are a few of my fav pics.

(Left to right) Zeke, Chris, Allie, Andrew, Zach, Sameejo, Me, My Baby. We all had just got to the chophouse and they gave us a free shot to start the night!

Some kissy face ensued soon after the start of our evening!

The drinks were humongous and food was great :) There was a mechanical bull that all our fellas rode on! Unfortunately, no pics of the bull riding :( All in all, we took 213 pics total O_O Here goes some of my favs......
Mama and her first drink! Adios Mother-F*ckah :)
The left side of the Crew: Me, Christopher, Zach, Allie, and Andrew
The right side of the crew: Zeke, Jeff, and Tay
Jeff didn't order food. He ate my hair instead :(
My homefries:
We don't know her, but she took our group pic. We heart you Amy Krupiva!
Last pic. Me and my Breasticle
We all had a great time, aside from the place losing Taylor's bull riding pic. We taxi'd home and did a bit of magic mic karaoke-ing :)

Babies

I just wanted to introduce my babies to you all as they are very near and dear to me :)

Names:
  • JoMar (right). A bit of algebra now -------> danJO + MARites = JOMAR
My aunt (mom's sis) is MARites, which is prounounced Muh-ree-tes. Her husband is DanJO, which is just really an awkward combination. Put them together and you get JOMAR.
  • Franchesca (left). Her nickname is Caca because Jomar couldn't say her whole name. It's the best nickname ever :) Cacacacacacaca!
About:
  • JoMar is turning 3 this November. Since both fams live in the same house (extended family living is very common among filipino families), his best friend is Caca and he looks over her like a brother. Unfortunately, he gets placed in front of the t.v. all too often, and as a result, is very much a media baby -- not the best way to develop a baby. However, it makes for some great laughs and good times as follows:
    • He'll dance his lil toosh away to mostly any kind of music.
    • He'll sing along with lots of the filipino t.v. jingles and songs.
    • He'll imitate the "ahhhh" sound of refreshment after drinking water
  • Caca is turning 2 this November. As the typical development of children, she looks up to JoMar and follows everything in his suit. She's super shy at first, but when she gains her level of comfort and security she's a BLAST. She's super giddy, itty bitty, and full of smiles and laughter.
Combo my two babies and you get hours of good times :) Here's just a couple more photo ops.
You can see both their faces in this one :) They were antsy in the pantsy to go play some more.
So cute. She cried when I left :(

Drama fo Yo Momma

Airport Location: LAX
Departure Time: 10:30pm
Land in Boston for Layover @ 6:37am
Connection Flight to London @ 8:00am
**Airline: American Airlines

Given the travel itenerary, Tay and I decided to get ALLLLLLLL caffeinated up on Starbucks and so we could stay awake on the first leg of the trip to Boston, crash on the second leg, and be ready to be up and running for when we land..... of course our plan would've worked out... IN A PERFECT WORLD. So the drama fo yo Momma ensued.....................

We stayed awake for the most part, and Tay only slept for mebbie a couple hours at the end :) I spent the time endulged gluttonously watching Shrek 3 and random tv series. What else is there to do when you're on a plane? =P We land in Boston around 6:30am and hear about an "EXTENSIVE FLIGHT DELAY" saying that we need to report to checkstand 39 as the flight has been rescheduled to 8:00pm. Wow. After some run around and the worst customer service ever, Taylor and I decide to make the best of the situation and venture into town. Line of the day was from some man we had asked for help. After asking if he know how we could get into town, he retorted, "Waddu I loowk like -- a toowrist boof?" He said it just like that. Taylor and I were left with this expression -----> O_O

As a matter of fact, I would probably summarize our experience during this layover with two things: O_O of the people we ran into and <^>O_o<^> for American Airlines (never again). Too much coffee, rude people, hunger pains, fatigue, and Taylor with shorts in the rain is what you get in the pictures that follow:

This is me sporting my newly purchased travel pillow! It is deflatable with a patent design that plugs up as soon as its filled and a wonderful soft casing ^_^

This is my baby after not sleeping much :) Don't let the semi-smile fool you ... he was a grumpy-bum most of the time since we hadn't slept much... AND he didn't have a sweet new travel pillow like me ;)

We went into Boston Square and made our way over to HARVARD. OoOO La la :) I thought of Mr. Kephart, of course, and we took one final pic at the entrance before giving up on visiting the town. Take note of Taylor's lovely red blanky he jacked from the airline, and my stylish new travel pillow that I've inflated and am proudly sporting ^_^

Things didn't go as planned and things actually just got more complicated after that! LOL. I think though, there's no better way to start a big trip than with an epic beginning :) Looking back, it's more fun to have a horror story to share, than to have walked away with nothing more than caffeine angst and t.v. blazened eyes. Besides, look at that sweet red skirt and hipster travel pillow ;) Good times. Good laughs.

** <^>O_o<^> American Airlines**

European Wave

I've decided that I will help kick off my blog with a series of stories from my Europe trip I had over summer :) This way, it'll be a quasi journal and helpful way to remember details when I finally come round to completing that scrapbook :) The itenerary to come will be: London, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Munich, Venice, Rome, and Ascot. Since Tay and I are teh suck at taking pictures, we only have a few pictures of select cities and others where there are NONE :( None the less, I'm excited to blog! :D

Work Work Work

So what have I been up to? I've been up to work, work, work, work. So funny that I use to work crazy hours all through college and have crazy long days, and sleep about 4-6hrs a night. I think the difference is, there's so little in my day that I enjoy. The crazy college scheduled consisted of different jobs, cool people, active work, work-out break, healthy eating, interesting classes (sometimes). Now, my days at work have consisted of bitch work, high stress deadlines, long work hours, over-eating-boredom disorder, no working out, and people I generally DO NOT enjoy working with -_-''.... There's financial stability... and then there's happiness. I'm still trying to find the happy balance that would be a realistic route to take. I'm all for working hard, but only when it's rewarding. I have a friend that studies like CRAZY... like he had two full time jobs... of studying O_O and being a med-student. Stressful? Yes. Crazy? Absolutely. Rewarding? He wins.

It's always so cheesy when people say pursue your passion, but it really is a good rule of thumb. Any of my friends who I see pursuing what they love are far happier than I O_O ::Applause and Admiration:: for all those who are doing what they want: Jello, Bea, Robin, Jeff, Samee, Wife #1... I'm sure there's more. All of you keep my spirits up and smiling to know that you're happy doing what you love ^_^

On a positive note though, outside of my stress and tif with work, I am an extremely blessed person :) I have an amazing boyfriend who I get to share my life with, and he makes what's left of my day worth while for me to keep going :) Even if all we do is cook dinner and clean, he's that effin cool ;) He makes even the menial tasks in life FANTASTIC.

Inspired by Robin

So this will be another attempt to do the blogging thing. I have a Xanga account that I never use, except to read Bb's, Jello's and Mark's blogs. I think Robin inspired me to open up this blogging site though because it seems like a more user friendly interface and set up :) We'll have to see if this keeps up.

Blogging is such a craze nowadays - blogging around tv shows, bloggers for celebs, and of course personal blogs. Gee golly. I like it though becuase it's a way to be in on the details and general events of those close friends who are all too far away. It's nice to play surface catch up with friends you care about, but I feel like a closer friend when I can somehow be included in the daily details too :)

Best thing about blogs, in my opinion, are being able to hear that person in your head as you read their stories! Sounds crazy, but when you know someone so well, and you can hear the tone of their voice, stressed cry for help, slight sarcasm, or giddy excitedness, it makes a girl smile :) I miss all my friends dearly -- especially Robin, my beloved wife, who is really allllll tooo far away. Most of my close friends I can at least entertain the thought of feasibly buying a plane ticket, driving up, driving down to visit. Robin?... no... she's in the BFE (butt-F*ck-of-Egypt) of JAPAN! Friggin Robin. One day though... I gotta make it happen so I can join Robin in her dirty clubbing and japanese-man pimping ;) For those of you who do NOT have Robin's new blog site, here it is: http://evawing.blogspot.com/
Go catch up on her life and read how much she's opened up and how much she is still the same great Robin :) By the way, you'll see that yes.... I have the same exact format as Robin O_O It's the only one that I liked too!

Robin, if you don't want me putting it on blast, lemme know and I'll remove it from the blog :D
